I love how people think they are pulling one over on ANet by not posting their farming locations. I'm pretty sure that all in-game activity is tracked and logged, so if people are visiting one area over and over... they already know all about it. And they already know your build too guys. Now... keeping that information out of the hands of lazy noobs, I'm all for that. But let's not kid ourselves into thinking that we're fooling "The Man" here.

I like to kill things solo for a change. And is was a challenge to find a skill configuration with my Necro(pure Necro, no skills from my secondary) to do so. Now i can go out elona and kill all those lizards, or pairs of hydras. I think its a good way to test and learn the working of skills.

Yes the griffons are nerfed to hell

why i only got a gold shield and 3 purple weopons last night (2bows +hammer) in one run

and about 2k in gold and another 1-2k in materials.

oh and a red dye

im sure there will be countless tales that make that insignificant but i dont call that nerfed.

Outside Riverside Province the tengu drop gold armour quite often.
Loads of the Mo/W go for them as all the tengu are in groups on tengu elites, which are pure melee, so easy smiting fodder.

I find farming the same areas over and over just boring, but some people prefer guild wars money over fun :P

Edit: Riverside not divinity

with the right build, just about anything can be solo farmed, and if you kill enough of anything you will get rares, dyes, etc, so you dont have to ask where the good farming places are, just find a place where you can kill stuff well on your own.

its all down to 2 things

1. luck luck luck, bring a rabbits foot, cross your fingers ect.

sometimes all i get is gold griff wings and minitor horns others i get gold items and purples.

2. quit after your 5th run go and do something else the drops rapidly decreas the more you do the same thing.

I think that if you do 3 runs, quit the game for a day. Then do another run, it will be counted as your 4th still. So what i do is just go to a random mission and join a team for half an hour, good way of helping people as well.

Oh I'm sure they can track traffic flow like that, but I think they start nerfing areas as soon as people start posting how-to's for certain areas with a certain build. The whole idea is that you don't want to let lose that certain classes can farm better than others, and make an unfair advantage.

Also when someone posts a location on a forum a hella lot more people are going to start farming that spot than were before.

There really is no best place to farm. It shifts as do the sands. Luck is a catalyst. Time is another. Fate is the final one.

Hehe, it's funny that they 'allow' players to have an unfair advantage in some respects of gameplay, yet at the same time nerf known farming areas....good times.

If a spot gets posted on the forums then the number of people farming that spot will jump significantly. Anet probably isn't gonna nerf a spot based on just a few people farming there, but will if the numbers get too high. That's why.

Well I've thought about it - and I still don't know the answer. Care to elaborate? 300k would do nicely.

I farm for devil grass.

The green stains and glossiness of my eyes betray that which I partake.

You're correct, in that people actualy seem to think Anet is finding out about farming spots from forums, but they're idiots.

We know Anet keeps stats on what people do in game because they've told us they do. Clearly, the way they find out about farming is by looking at those stats.

Lets see, the average game starting from this location has 1 player, who spends 5 minutes before restarting, kills 12 critters (all the same type) and avoids all or most other things.

It is impossible to hide farming from statistical analysis. They have access to everything they would ever need to spot farming, and they probably have it set up automaticaly to pop a red flag whenever certain parameters are crossed.

They just don't need to bother looking at forums, so why would they?
